There is nothing like a paper book in my personal opinion. The smell of ink and the feel of paper under your fingers is something that cannot be replaced.
I love traditional books and I also like when they are smaller in size. A smaller book travels better in your backpack and does not break when you read it for the 10th time. My goal was to write about 270 pages, but… I failed… and ended up writing over 30 chapters.
Not all of it could fit into one book, so I had the difficult task of dividing my content into a series of books for your convenience.
I also failed again to make the first book shorter than it is. It is not even close to 270 pages and I still have so much more to tell you…
This is the reason for the series instead of one book and I call it Guide Star Series.
Why a Guide Star?
Let me start from a quote of Carl Shurz, an American statesman and a journalist from the nineteenth century to describe what is this book really about:
Ideals are like stars; you will not succeed in
Touching them with your hands. But like the
Seafaring man on the desert or waters,
You choose them as your guides,
And following them you will reach your destiny.
~ Carl Shurz
Perhaps this quote explains why I chose such a title for a series of books full of ideas.
Although Christianity celebrates a guiding star every year, these are not religious books and the series is not meant to get into religious aspects of life. The stars I am talking about are like gems to me in the form of topics, books, interviews and mentors – human stars that I value the most and this can be anything that can make a difference in improving aspects of your life.
That is why I say a Guide Star and not a “Guiding Star.”
The Stars
Stars have been very important in human culture since the very beginning of ancient civilization. Navigation over the land and oceans (long before the exploration of the world began) was possible precisely because of the most important guiding star – Polaris, also called the North Star, used by the people of the northern hemisphere. It belongs to the constellation of Ursa Minor, which is located almost exactly at the celestial north pole and above the magnetic north pole of the Earth, making it valuable for navigation. Let’s not forget the constellation of Crux in the southern hemisphere, where I live today, and the Australian Cross with the star ACrux, which plays a similar role in the south to Polaris in the north. For many centuries, the bright light of these stars helped early navigators find their way and find their way home.
Today, many people are similar to those early explorers who traveled without any other guidance.
We are disconnected from nature, chasing money and forgetting what is important in life. Many people feel lost, helpless, unhealthy, overwhelmed and hopeless – they do not know what to do, and I believe we need guidance. We need stars like the ones I write about to help us return home. We can still turn back and change our ways to create a better world for our children. In the midst of today’s busy and crazy pace of life, you can still find meaning and connection to nature, to your Higher Self, find your purpose, learn meditation and enrich your life to find peace and happiness. This is what our ancestors had and what we have lost in the modern world.
It is not too late to learn to live better!
The purpose
Most people today do not understand their own needs and desires. They live in a reactive state driven by Ego and money and only a few know what they really want from life and how to reach their maximum potential. I would like to grow this number and help others through my books.
Since the origins of mankind, humanity has always been curious and has never stopped wondering about the nature of the world we live in. There is an abundance of works from many cultures and nations in the form of literature, art, and even recent video recordings from this century. Almost all of these works have been created and preserved with the intention of making the world a better place – guidance for future generations, and these works are true gems in various forms.
By using these resources, you let them guide you, so I compare these works to the Guide Stars.
This is what the Guide Star series of books is trully about.
I hope that my books in this series can be as much valuable to you and will help you stand on your feet and improve many areas of your life.
Enjoy your reading adventure!
